Wingnuts are going super hyper insaneo batshit crazy frothing wacko long knives frontal stab attack mode on the President's non-PC comment comparing his bowling average to the Special Olympics (for which he has already apologized for.) Frankly, Zandardad (who has spent 25+ years working with the developmentally disabled) would be the first to tell you he's worked with folks in the Special Olympics who can, in fact, bowl better than President Obama.
He'd also be the first to tell you that the GOP is trying to distract people. AIG bonus issue, horrible distraction from the nation's business. President on Leno, vital issue that thousands of pages of electronic ink must be spilled about.
EPIC FAIL.
Bonus Verbatim Stupid From The Right Which Will Piss Zandardad Off: "In my opinion, we hit Obama on this as if he hates all retard people and we are not acting ANY different than the left. I despise the left and I don’t want to be accused of acting like them."
Sorry pops. Just had to point out that you have to be careful with righteous indignation, ya know.
I don't think you do a very good job of fighting the stupid -- likely because you haven't yet recognized it in yourself.
ReplyDeleteObama was the first to call for the firing of Don Imus. No, I'm not outraged by the content of his joke, which as I noted plays off a fairly familiar and unoriginal comedy trope.
Can some people legitimately feel offended? Sure. Did Obama mean to offend them? Probably not.
Still, he's the PRESIDENT. And so if anyone needs to insist on the dignity of the office, he should be the first to do so.
Going on a talk show and making a 'tard joke like he was some HBO comedian pushing an hour special is inappropriate, particularly if you don't have the ear for it.
Don't like getting beaten with the hypocrisy cudgel? Retire your own.
Hey buster...
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly the kind of guy I'm aiming this one at.
After 8 years of a President that committed war crimes, tortured people, spied on Americans, started a war under false pretenses, killed hundreds of thousands, and oh yeah, oversaw the greatest theft of wealth in history...
...You actually believe Obama's comment is affecting the "dignity of the office". Pray tell, how did you feel about the former resident of the office?
You don't get to play that card, especially after Obama apologized...something Bush has yet to do.
When I mean perspective acquisition fail, I'm talking to you.ca
