The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists — the Taliban and Hamas this morning — in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize. Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize — an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride — unless of course you are the Republican Party. The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It’s no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore – it’s an embarrassing label to claim. It's a low blow guys, and you're better than that. That's the kind of crap I'd expect to see from Michael Steele, not Tim Kaine's outfit.
The rest of the argument is fine, but the terrorist thing is over the top.

[UPDATE 11:50 AM] Obama's remarks however were spot on.
President Obama on Friday said he was "surprised and deeply humbled" by winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.Nailed it on all fronts, and brilliantly."I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of American leadership," Obama said from the White House Rose Garden.
"I will accept this award as a call to action."
Obama said he did not feel he deserves "to be in the company" of past winners.
I love your blog but I have to disagree with you on this. When you come right down to it the redumblicans have said they hope the President fails so they have the same agenda as the terrorist. Its about time they get called out on it.If they want to be birds of the same feather then we must make sure they flock together.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Dems need to fight back, but not with the same stupidity that the Republicans themselves use.
ReplyDeleteLike the update says, Obama's remarks were brilliant, and that makes the GOP looks like assholes.
Obama is always the classiest guy in the room, although the shrieks of the MSM and fellow politicians kind of makes that easy...
