Ryan O'Neal's son Griffin faced four years in prison, and came out with a fairly reasonable 16-month sentence for a car wreck in which he injured another driver.
He pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence and possession of a firearm by a felon. He failed a drug screen, turning a positive result for "many" substances. He also had a relapse that sent him back to rehab, which interfered with the court's schedules.
Normally, I'm all for rehab and hoping for the best, but this young man needs more than that. He has crossed the line for years, and may actually dry out enough over his sentence to get a grip on his addiction. If not, he'll be back again. I do feel for the guy, but he wasn't going to stop on his own.
