A member of the New Jersey governor's cabinet has resigned amid a sweeping corruption investigation that has ensnared three mayors, two state legislators and several rabbis.Doria's home was raided earlier today in the same sweep. As head of the Department of Community Affairs, Doria was in charge of the city of Camden (the city's government is administered by the state currently) as well as being the state's guy in charge of about $10 billion in federal stimulus money. He was a big player in state politics with that kind of purse string power, possibly the biggest so far. He's only been in the DCA position for about a year.Speaking Thursday at a news conference, Gov. Jon Corzine said he asked Community Affairs Commissioner Joseph Doria to step down and that Doria agreed to leave office.
Corzine says Doria could not be effective with such a serious investigation going on.
Needless to say, this is going to get good.
