Keith Olbermann will return to the air on Tuesday after being suspended without pay for two shows (this past Friday and the upcoming episode on Monday).
The host of MSNBC's "Countdown" was given an indefinite suspension last week after his boss, network president Phil Griffin, discovered that Olbermann had made political contributions without seeking prior approval, as per NBC News policy.
A network spokesman released the following via email:
STATEMENT REGARDING KEITH OLBERMANN - SUNDAY, NOV. 7 From Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC:Earlier on Sunday, Olbermann broke his silence via Twitter, telling his followers "Greetings From Exile!" and thanking people for their support.
After several days of deliberation and discussion, I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night's program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night.
I'm sure Keith will have some sort of special comment or something to say about it, just as Rachel Maddow did. Again, I've stayed out of the Olber-mess because it was all kabuki anyway, and I'm far more interested in why he was really suspended in the first place, since I absolutely do not buy the excuse give by MSNBC's Phil Griffin. Publicity stunt to rally the faithful after Tuesday's election? Olbermann keyed Phil's car in the parking garage? A memento mori moment from the evil overlords reining Keith in? Contract dispute for the cash money? I don't know.
Good to have him back, however.

I find it interesting that when liberals lose the argument on a particular point, as they have regarding MSNBC, liberals try to make it seem like the argument was about something else.
Like I said earlier, let me know when MSNBC is actually a "news" organization.
And you are lazily arguing that MSNBC hosts doing things off the air is the same as FOX News hosts advocating for candidates on the air directly. Since you actually lost that argument days ago, you're now trying to intimate that MSNBC is the same, which it is not.

It's obvious you didn't view the video evidence I provided showing on-air MSNBC endorsements and you call me lazy? That's called projection. On your part.
No, MSNBC is not the same as Fox. Fox News is a news outlet. MSNBC being a subsidiary of GE, which is getting federal money, is an arm of the government that spews this President's propaganda that tries, and fails, to pass itself off as a "news" outlet. I provide evidence; you've provided talking points from the lefty community-based reality, which includes Maddow. Evidence wins every time. That is the reality.
And yet you're the one when faced with Rachel's evidence immediately tried to change the subject to make it about MSNBC while completely ignoring the documented times that FOX News came out as the propaganda arm of the GOP, then accuse me of projecting.
That's because you lost this argument from the initial outset and are desperately trying to make it about something else other than FOX.
That doesn't work around here in reality.
