Washington (CNN) - A new national poll shows an improvement in how Americans see the direction of the country, and puts President Obama in better standing against potential 2012 rivals.
That's good news. It also shows that Americans are happier with the direction the country is moving. I don't put a lot of stock in polls, but the overall tend towards citizens feeling more secure with the current leadership is a good sign.

You'll excuse some of us if we don't agree with you on this being "good news".
No need to worry about semantics - maybe you think it's 'awesome news' or 'excellent news', but it's just another word for 'good'. So, just go ahead and say it's good news then.
News that "puts President Obama in better standing" is not viewed positively by our racist friends.
The rest of us are just glad he was here to keep McCain/Palin out of the White House.
