Iowa corn is nearly all *feed* corn - i.e., for livestock. And some is made into corn syrup.
So they don't actually eat much corn in Iowa. Actually, they don't eat vegetables much at all. Salad bars feature cottage cheese and jello heavily.
The people-food raised there is mostly beef and pork.
Now you know. I had to learn the hard way, by living there for 10 years.
Good to know! I only passed through a few times on my way to Wisconsin.
All I'm saying is those folks fry cheese. Heroic.
