The only animals that have managed to cow my cat (is that a mixed metaphor, or what?) are a pair of mockingbirds that I've named Lurleen and Bruce. My cat's absolutely terrified by them. Of course, Lurleen did actually make a couple of runs at me, too, when I was in her "sphere of influence." Nasty little twit.
Point of post: If you want to keep your indoor/outdoor kitty from killing the avian wildlife, you need to double-bell his/her collar. Most cat collars come with one bell, but a kitty can change its gait to adjust for this. If you double-bell the collar, they can't get away with this trick. Since I've double-belled my moggie, I haven't seen any "gift offerings" around the house. You can buy extra bells (usually in 3-packs) at your local pet supply store.
