The Return Of Mayor McSleaze

Oh Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, never, ever change.

I’ve got the strongest track record. I’ve been the best mayor that this city’s ever had. My record speaks for itself,” Ford said, as quoted by the Toronto Star.

Ford filed for re-election on Thursday, the first day for candidates to turn in paperwork for Toronto's Oct. 27 mayoral election.

He was the first candidate to file for the race.

I have to hand it to Canada: why muck about with all the American-style fake remorse, the false penitence play before the Good Lord, and the pretend Christian hand-wringing (after getting busted doing crack on video) when you can just directly go to the part where you balls it out and dare the bastards to try to come for your job?

Watch him get re-elected, too.

Fortunately, I think the chances of him being re-elected are quite low. When you look at his poll numbers among folks that actually are likely to vote they are pretty low and that is against NOBODY. He has big support in the "fuck yeah .. tell them libs" crowd but in Canada they don't really vote. Look for Olivia Chow (widow of former NDP leader Jack Layton and current Member of Parliament) to be the next Toronto mayor.

Good to know, Rob. I'll look into Olivia Chow's record more and research a post or two on the election.
