Dayton picks a mayor and city council, too. And we have library and metropark issues on the ballot. I voted already this morning. I don't have a good feeling about our mayor, a black Dem. She's being challenged by a white "independent" re: Republican Lite, and he's a moron. He has no experience other than attending some planning board meetings. And he said he doesn't trust Dayton Public Schools, so he homeschools his daughter. Okee dokee, what does that say about his knowledge and commitment to the city school system?
Whaddya bet he wins because he's a white guy?
In Dayton, I'm not sure. But that certainly isn't going to bode well for him getting along with the City Schools.
You'd think it would be an automatic out for him. But the Eastern Redneck Population is pretty heavily into getting rid of our current mayor, who's been here a while. Actually, I think she should be doing more and a better job, but in today's economic situation, I think she's done pretty well. But the Republicans have been gunning for her and they might just push the other guy into the Mayor's position. Ugh.
